We can’t live in a bubble and neither can our kids and really who wants too? However, being out in the world especially this time of year means germs, germs, germs. Thankfully therapeutic grade essential oils can help both prevent and lessen the duration of seasonal or environmental threats. I am NOT a doctor and I am not suggesting to disregard your Doctor's orders but I do recommend doing your research and I am sharing what I use with my family.

My absolute favorite oil to use this time of year is On Guard. It is a blend of wild orange peel, clove bud, cinnamon bark/leaf, eucalyptus leaf and rosemary leaf/flower. On guard supports the immune system and the body’s respiratory system as well as its antioxidant defenses. My kids LOVE it because of the scent...like the holidays with clove and cinnamon. This oils is wonderful on the feet, behind the ears, in a diffuser and even a drop on the tongue as it is safe for ingestion. It does come in soap and cleaning products to really amp up the protection against seasonal or environmental threats and make everything smell delicious.

If you or your family are suffering from congestion the oil Breathe is another of my favorites. It is another blend of Laurel Leaf, Eucalyptus Leaf, Peppermint Plant, Melaleuca Leaf, Lemon Peel, Cardamom Seed, Ravintsara Leaf, and Ravensara Leaf. It’s like your own version of vapor rub but with natural ingredients and another lovely scent. This is a great oil to diffuse at night for a restful sleep while opening up the chest and nasal passages. It can be rubbed on the feet or chest with a carrier oil to help bring more oxygen into the body and help with respiration.

There are many more oils that we love using and that can help with this time of year but these are my go-to’s for my family when winter bugs start to appear!
